I cooked dinner and my family had a bbq

I cooked dinner for my roommate tonight. some stuff i learned before i left for NY from my parents. While back at home.. my family had a bbq with spare ribs! totally puts my dinner to shame. but im still happy with what i made!

Memorial Weekend

This memorial weekend I spent some quality time with my Taiwanese roommate.  We started with a rooftop movie ontop of a highschool downtown.  Actually it wasnt really a movie .. just a bunch of short films. some were good/touching/relevant, others... weren't so much. 

  

 

         

Today we went to Passport to Taiwan, a Taiwanese American festival in Union Square where I met some more Taiwanese people, ate ba zhang, and bumped into that taiwanese girl from Marios last summer!... what are the chances that the group I'm sitting with happens to be sitting right next to her group of friends in the park?

 

 

I've also been working on my portfolio for my interviews this coming week. ADAM on Monday and Vivienne Tam on Tuesday. Wish me luck! here's a few illustrations I did tonight. (IMO they get progressively better.)

New room and first cooked meal.. kindof

I finally moved into my actual room yesterday.  it feels so good to be officially settled in. and i really like the room + all the great furniture for storage! Please feel free to visit! my bed is actually pretty big. def fits 2!

In addition to moving in.. i cooked for the first time in the apt today! I cooked chicken! (ok i boiled it which isnt that hard but.. it was my first time and it was delicious. I would have had it with rice or something but i didnt have any.. so i figured cereal was close enough!

internships suck! but im starting to get used to doing mindless work all day.  went to bergdorfs for lunch today.. i can now look forward to tue/thurs/fri at nautica!

Move in.

bed/sheets/duvet/pillow and 1 light from subleter. carpet and light from Nina.
I kinda like it. :) and i really like my taiwanese roommate!
the 3rd roommate hasnt moved in yet. but I do know tho that shes an indian girl.
According to Jenny our apt. is either going to smell like stir fry or curry all the time... .

Back to NY

somehow i wound up back in Ny for the summer. I've got two internships lined up, 1 for perry ellis in technical design and the other for nautica in creative design. both are for men's sportswear. and unfortunately both are unpaid.

I move into my sublet place tomorrow and i start perry ellis on monday!
i'm nervous about the internships b/c i don't know how strict they will be.

anyways, let me know if you want to come visit. i'll make a calendar. actually.. i haven't even seen the place i'll be staying. i'll post pictures when i get there and you can decide if you want to stay with me or mooch off someone else with a nicer apt. :)

ps. pokey is the cutest thing. except that he chewed up my retainer, makeup sponge, and chapstick. that were in a bag.. in another bag.. in my book bag. ridiculous.
