three words.

This weekend I went to brooklyn where Esther and Nina made sushi and watched the jersey shore marathon where the question. .what does GTL stand for? came up.
Nina blackberry-ed it and came up with this:
"The process of staying fresh and mint. Stands for "Gym, tan, laundry.""
more here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=GTL

Today my roommate told me she bought the book Eat Pray Love. and i couldnt help but think about the how funny the comparison of the guiddos from the highly watched Jersey shore to the woman from highly read Eat Pray Love would be.

Sushi + Pokey:

Also had Nice Matin with my cousin for dinner!
Tuna Tartare appetizer (the best imo)

Arugula Salad

Raviolis Nissarda (I think the wine got to me in this dish)

Veal Escalopes

Also, Jenny is here! Had dinner and cupcakes with her around grand central.  I've discovered there really isnt much good food in the area.  going to have to drag jenny out to eat better food!

Ramblings

I hate ny bc...
I saw an nasty old guy peeing in the street last night.
Another nasty old guy tried to burp in my face while i was walking.
My roommate told me she saw a nasty guy doing the worst thing you could think of in the subway!..DISGUSTING.

Today was great bc...
I rode the subway 0 times. and the bus 3. Riding the bus is great when you aren't in a hurry to get somewhere, when its not raining, and when its not rush hour.
I found a nice silk top and button down for less than $5 thrift shopping.
I saw nothing profane and no one tried to burp in my face.

Asian American International Film Festival

Went to the closing night of the AAIFF my roommate is interning for.
Watched "the people i've slept with" which was entertaining w/ lots of laugh out loud moments for me. Met some new people at the after party incl a graphic designer who gave me a preview version of him and his friends magazine. He also happened to be friends with the designer of Ideeen, a label I almost did pr for last september fashion week when i helped out at Nouveau PR.

Ratatat at ps1

Went to see Ratatat at ps1 this past weekend. it was awesome. in addition to ratatat mixes they played some great oldies and divine by sebastien tellier! This years out door rave included beach balls, netting, misting areas, and giant hammocks. on a side note.. I bumped into someone I knew from chapel hill! so random!

TODAY

Today I...

woke up at Nina's and helped her and her roommates move to their new apt. My job mainly consisted of truck and dog sitting. It was tiring tho.. just sitting. seriously! Note for the future... if I am ever going to live in NY I will be sure to consider the weight and quantity of my possessions.

met up with Kyoko (the assistant pattern maker from my internship last summer aka the cutest little japanese girl ever) and her bf Howard for coffee, sushi, and relaxing in madison square park.

had a miraculous meet up with Mia, my old Finnish roommate from my HK study abroad trip, through facebook.  I also met both her brothers who got me giant sunflowers (which I just now realized I left at St. Marks!!damn!) and an Australian guy she hadn't seen in 4 years that happened to be in town.

Long day.

Michael and jeffrey come tomorrow and i'm hoping for a great rest of the 4th of july weekend! so much for not having any more visitors..
